Boost Your Sales With These Amazon Product Page Optimization Tips

Amazon Product Page Optimization Tips-2ndoffice

With millions upon millions of products listings on Amazon, you will be hard-pressed to stand out from this extremely big crowd. This is especially true if you are new to the platform and you do not know what to do.

The key to selling well in Amazon is to be the first page a potential customer will see whenever he/she searches for a product. This is where Amazon product page optimization comes in.

Amazon product page optimization is an incredibly deep and nuanced thing to learn, but it is critical if you want to succeed on the platform. In this article, we will be sharing five things you need to know about product page optimization so you can hit the ground running, and hopefully boost your sales a little bit.

1. Understand the basics of Amazon’s algorithm.

While Amazon’s algorithm changes constantly and evolves over time, learning the basics is a good foundation if you want to build a solid customer base on Amazon.

In a nutshell, Amazon uses an algorithm to rank every product on the platform, and this rank affects where your product listing will appear on the list that a customer sees when he/she searches for a product. Higher rank = higher on the list, and lower rank = further down the list (or not on the list at all). Your rank is determined based on a variety of factors, including the keywords that you use on your listing, click-through-rate (CTR), the current performance of your product listing, and many more.

This is basically the gist of the algorithm, and you are free to go a little deeper if you want. But knowing the basics is definitely a surefire way to point you to the right direction, especially if you are just starting out.

2. Research keywords extensively.

As we mentioned in above, Amazon uses the keywords that you use when determining the rank of your product page. Leverage this by making sure that your keywords are correct and produce the best results.

However, Amazon keyword optimization is easier said than done, as simply thinking of potential keywords and plugging them into your listing will probably not work very well. Find high-performing keywords by using various keyword research tools that you can find on the internet. We have covered the best SEO tools in a previous article, so make sure to go through that as well and find the tool that best suits your needs.

3. Optimize your product pages.

Optimizing your product page does not stop with using the right keywords – every aspect of your listing must be optimized as well. To do this, you may have to double-check your title and the product images that you use.

Your title is the first thing a potential customer will see once your listing appears on the search results. This is why your title should have as much information as possible. This information may include the brand, features, materials, model number, size, or any other information that may influence a customer to buy your product. Remember: most product categories have a character limit of 200 (including spaces) on the titles, so feel free to fill your title with all the necessary information.

Next is your product images. Your images must be focused on the product, and the product should fill the majority of the frame. Also, your images must be of high quality, and free from any watermark or any other element that may take away attention from the actual product. You can also use images that highlight the use or the features of the product. For example, if a key selling point of your product is its size, you can use an image that compares your product to another item of a similar size.

These are just a few of the Amazon product optimization tips we can provide, and we hope that these tips will help increase your sales on Amazon, even for a little bit. If you would like to learn more about this topic, or any other subject related to eCommerce, be sure to browse our collection of articles in this website, or stay tuned for our next article.
